Olympian Andrew Reyes organizes run for breast cancer research
Kennewick, Wash -- Former Olympian Andrew Reyes held a 5k run Saturday to support breast cancer research. The world class sprinter's foundation, the Andrew Reyes Foundation aims to fund cancer research as well as help victims of domestic violence. Saturday's run was the first 5k run that reyes has organized. The race got a good crowd Saturday at Howard Amon Park, with all the money going to breast cancer research. A few people spoke about their own battles with cancer. Reyes says being a former Olympian helps a great deal in trying to gather support for his foundation.
"I think it brings a lot of awareness just like every other celebrity that comes out for awareness," said Reyes. "Bringing their names attached to the programs like lance armstrong with Nike putting together things for different awareness. I think that really helps out."
