YAKIMA, Wash.-- Dozens gathered to break ground Monday for the new Richard E. Ostrander Library in West Valley.
The future library will be located on 72nd Avenue.
The new library will be about 10,000 sq. feet., almost 50% bigger than the current Summitview Library.
Richard Ostrander attended the groundbreaking and says the library is a welcome addition to West Valley.
"This library means a lot to me. Not just because it has my name on it, but because of what it will do for the people. And I will tell you right now, it's the people who make this library system," said Ostrander.
The library will feature public computer access, and a larger reading room.
