Stay warm and in-shape this winter by trying boxing

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- As it gets colder outside, you may be looking for some indoor activities to stay in shape this winter. Leaders at Contenders Boxing Gym in Kennewick advise giving boxing a try.

They say the sport helps develop your cardiovascular health, and produces a "lean and mean" body type. The gym is currently serving contenders ages 8 to 80.

Austin Zambrano is 15-years-old. He said, "{boxing} helps me keep up conditioning, because I do other sports like basketball and soccer. I like the workouts. It builds confidence, makes friends, anyone can understand it, and anyone can join."

Coaches say the most important thing is to find an exercise you enjoy doing, because then you'll workout more often.

The gym holds boxing classes Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 in the evening.
