Chance for Yakima voters to learn more about candidates/issues

YAKIMA, Wash- Ballots went out Wednesday for the November election which is just three weeks away.  Yakima voters have another chance to hear more about local candidates and ballot measures. 

Thursday the League of Women voters is hosting a reception for the city council candidates.   It will be at 4:30pm at the 4th Street Theater at 14 South 4th Street.  Later that night, FYI, the forward Yakima Initiative is holding a forum for the superior court judge, and Yakima City Council candidates, and the prop 1 ballot measure.  It will be a held in Yakima City Council Chambers with the following schedule:

6pm- Superior Court Judge candidate forum

6:20- Yakima City Council candidate forum

7:05- Yakima County's Proposition One (Home Rule Charter).  Advocates for each side will provide their opening statements, followed by questions from our panel and the audience.   Each side then will close with their final comments.  The evening's event will conclude before 8:00 p.m.
