YAKIMA, Wash.-- Active and retired service members in the Yakima Valley can take advantage of a traveling commissary store this weekend. Fairchild Commissary in Spokane hosts a traveling grocery store in different cities around the state to let service members purchase items at commissary prices.
Organizers are excited to be in Yakima and say they've had a great turnout in the past.
"They are extremely grateful, they can't say enough good things. They're thrilled that we're coming out to provide them with what we can," said Nancy Jacobs, an organizer from Fairchild Commissary.
The commissary will run Friday and Saturday from 9 to 5pm at the Yakima National Guard Armory, 2501 Airport Lane. Anyone with a disability can get an early start at 8:30am.
All you need to shop is a valid Military ID.
And if you can't make it out this weekend, organizers say they usually come back every six months.
