YAKIMA, Wash.-- Yakima Police say an employee at a Sonic Drive-In was robbed at gunpoint. It happened just before 6pm on Wednesday evening at the Sonic on S. 1st St.
Employees told police that a blue mini-van pulled into the restaurant and when a car hop approached, the driver pointed a gun at her and demanded money. Officers say the employee did everything right in this situation.

"In this case there's really not much else you can do. It's just if that happens you comply, create space and distance and time, and then call the police," said Lt. Mike Merryman.

The suspect is described at a Hispanic man, in his 20's driving a blue, late model mini-van, possibly a Plymouth with Washington license plates.

The van and the suspect have not been found.  If you have information that could help investigators, call Yakima Police.
