TOPPENISH, Wash.-- Children in Toppenish were also taking part in Halloween celebrations Saturday. The Northern Pacific Railway Museum in Toppenish had their annual Pumpkin Run. Kids and families learned about the history of the railway in the Yakima Valley, and take a ride on a train. Kids were then able to pick out pumpkins to take home with them.
Organizers say it's a great event, and every year they see more and more people.
"Of course kids love it, they get to ride the train, then pick up a pumpkin... they think that's fun," said Roger O'Dell.
The museum is a non-profit organization and uses the money raised to help with the cost of running the trains. The Pumpkin Run is a yearly event, but they say there's a similar ride event after Thanksgiving.
