NAMPA, Idaho -- Central Washington University freshman Danielle Brandli (Bellevue, Wash./Interlake HS) scored just minutes into overtime ending a scoreless tie and giving the Wildcats women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Northwest Nazarene on Saturday afternoon.

The win, coupled with a Montana State Billings loss Saturday afternoon, moved the Wildcats (9-4-4, 8-3-2 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference) back into second place in the conference with just one game remaining this season.

This victory also means that for just the second time in the 25-year history of CWU women's soccer, the Wildcats will finish an entire regular season without losing consecutive games. The other occurrence came in 1990.

Brandli's goal, her second of the season, was a result of timely passing from teammates Sydney Coleman (Auburn, Wash./Auburn Mountainview HS) and Amy Pate (Federal Way, Wash./Thomas Jefferson HS). Coleman touched a pass to Pate, who one-touched a pass to Brandli, who scored from 10 yards out, finding the upper right corner of the NNU net just 2:09 into overtime.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kori Butterfield (Duvall, Wash./Cedarcrest HS) started for the first time in four games and recorded five saves, earning her fourth shutout of the season.

Central Washington got four shot attempts each from Coleman and Carson McKole (Oak Harbor, Wash.), and took a 15-9 advantage in shots over the Crusaders, with nine of the Wildcats' shots being on goal.

Central Washington will play its final game of the 2011 season next Saturday (Nov. 5) at Seattle Pacific University at 1 p.m.
