Officers were flagged down by 2 witnesses and found Ramon Flores, 31, lying on the ground at 408 Cherry Ave., an apartment complex.

Flores, a California resident had just moved to Yakima.

Witnesses who asked to remain anonymous tell us that he was shot in the back of the complex, by 2 men, then made his way to the front of his apartment before collapsing from his injuries.

"It was scary because my brother was outside playing with the neighbors and 10 minutes later the shooting starts," she said.

Flores was taken to Memorial Hospital where he later died.
YPD says this was an apparent gang shooting.
Folks who live in the area say, it's normally a quiet neighborhood, with lots of kids playing. Now, they say they're going to be a lot more careful when they are out.
Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call YPD.
