YAKIMA, Wash.-- The recent resignation of Yakima School Board Member Jim Scoggins is the second resignation by a board member in just over a month.
Board President Martha Rice say's it's not anything to worry about however.
She says they will be interviewing five candidates for the first position tomorrow, and will more than likely fill it before Scoggins leaves.
"It will just be a matter of bringing the 2 new people up to speed. Just need to make sure that the new people have all the information they need to make reasoned decisions," said Rice.
Rice says having a vacant position does not affect the board's ability to work.
The district will accept applications for this new opening immediately.
