Cougars Show off New Freshman, $3 Million Scoreboard

Washington State played – and won – its first and only exhibition game of the season last week, beating Lewis-Clark State 88-41. But just as impressive as the play on the court was what was hanging from the ceiling of Beasley Coliseum: a new scoreboard.

The Cougars showed off their brand new $3 million hanging cube on Saturday, complete with video boards and a scrolling marquee. A giant lighted Cougar logo adorns the underside.

On the court, freshman Davonte Lacey scored a game-high 21 points in the win.

The Cougars open the season for real on November 4 against Gonzaga in Spokane.
