YAKIMA, Wash.-- People lined Yakima Avenue in Downtown Yakima Friday to show their support for our nation's veterans.
The parade passed right by our new Downtown Yakima studio on Yakima Ave.
Thousands of people were waving flags, and holding signs to show their support for our nation's veterans, and especially all those local men and women who have served.
The parade featured dozens of military groups and marching bands.there was even a tank rolling down the street. Folks say they're happy to be able to support those who have sacrificed so much for America.
"I was born and raised in America and I'm proud to be an American. I respect what our troops do for us. I got a lot of respect and love," said Wyatt Joerger of Walla Walla.
The parade went from Naches Ave. all the way to 6th Ave. and people crowded every foot of the street trying to get a look.
Folks also gathered at the end of the parade where organizers handed out hotdog's to kids and vet's got a chance to hang out and talk with one another.
