YAKIMA, Wash.-- As part of Washington's "Focus on Education" week, the Yakima School District invited all different kinds of people to take a tour of their schools today.
Parents, charity workers, religious leaders, and other members of the community walked through Adams Elementary and Davis High School. They visited classes at work and spoke with teachers and students. Mike Judy, one of the people on tour, told us how important it is to him to know what's going on in schools.
"When you hear about problems in the school system and just sit back and criticize, but until you come and see what they're doing and what they're trying to do and the problems that they really face, you don't really have a full understanding," says Judy.
Cle Elum-Roslyn and Naches Valley School Districts held tours today as well. West Valley and Selah will hold them tomorrow morning.
