PASCO, Wash.--Hundreds attend the Harvest Ball dance. The annual Harvest Ball kicked off Saturday night. The dance was put on by the Arc of Tri-Cities and other groups for people with developmental disabilities. It was at Columbia Basin College in the Hub. It was completely paid for by donors.
The dances were started by special needs parents that are no longer with us today. Donna Tracey from the Arc of Tri-Cities says "the Arc of Tri-Cities, Goodwill, Columbia Industries, Tri-Cities Residential Services and Ambitions and Provident Horizon made a commitment to keep this dance going." The organizations pay to set up everything at the event.
Organizers say these dances work help people develop their social skills. The Harvest Ball has been a Tri-Cities tradition for over 40 years.
