Downtown Holiday Light Parade hits Yakima this Sunday
YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Downtown Yakima Holiday Light Parade ushers in the holiday season on Sunday.
There are 45 businesses and organizations participating this year, driving lighted vehicles down the street. They'll also have people singing Christmas carols and Santa will make an appearance.
Once they reach the end of their route, they'll light up the Christmas tree in the plaza. Parade organizers say it's a fun event for the whole family.
"I think the community will love it. It isn't supposed to be real cold Sunday night... Supposed to be in the high thirties and so I think it would be great to bring out the family and have lots of fun," says Organizer Joe Mann.
The parade starts at 5:30 on Sunday evening. It goes down Yakima Avenue from Sixth Avenue to Millennium Plaza off Third Street.
Sunnyside will also have its Lighted Farm Implement Parade on Saturday night at 6:30 in the Sunnyside downtown area.
Kennewick will have its annual Christmas Lighted Boat Parade on December ninth and tenth at six PM.
