Toppenish Museum holding annual Toy Train Christmas this month
YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Northern Pacific Railway Museum is holding its Toy Train Christmas over the next three weekends this month.
This is the museum's eighth year celebrating it. The event is spread across several rooms the museum. They have forty model trains set up and running through all sorts of Christmas scenes. Kids can also take a ride on a caboose and go see Santa.
Museum organizers say they have a great turn out, with people coming in from all over our area to take part in the festivities. The museum says the event isn't just for kids, but for adults too.
"People remember having trains set up around the Christmas tree or getting train sets when they were kids around Christmas and just having fun and this is something that brings the memories back," says Museum Treasurer and Engineer Dennis Lee.
Lee says many local families make Toy Train Christmas an annual event.
It's happening at the Northern Pacific Railway Museum located at 10 Asotin Avenue in Toppenish. It's open from ten AM to four PM every weekend until December 18th. Admission is six dollars for adults and four dollars for children.
