RICHLAND, Wash.--Kadlec Coats for Kids Challenge. The 8th annual Kadlec Coats for Kids Challenge ended with more than 3,000 coats donated by local schools.
The premier sponsor, Kadlec Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the 2011 winner of the coat drive, Ruth Livingston Elementary School in Pasco. This is the 4th year in a row the school has donated the most coats, more than 721 jackets for children.
The winning school gets a $500 donation from Kadlec Regional Medical Center. There were 15 schools total that participated. Each school that donated more than 100 coats will also receive a $200 donation from Kadlec for helping others out in the community.
Community Relations Representative of Kadlec Delt Clark says "every year it amazes me of how some students just take this on. Some schools have one or two students that do it. Some schools have their whole PTA get behind it and it's a tradition just to get coats for those in need."
