Police chase three robbery suspects on foot

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Yakima Police chased three men suspected of robbery through the snow today.

Officers got a call about a home burglary on South Sixth Avenue just before ten this morning. They say the suspects may have also robbed a student at gunpoint just a few minutes before.

Police chased the men's car down Third Avenue. The suspects lost control and crashed the car. They ran away on foot. Officers tracked them through the snow with the help of a few witnesses.

"With the neighbors help makes it a lot easier for us to make arrests like this and having them stay on the line and give us the information that updates as we were responding makes our job a lot easier," says Sgt. Shawn Boyle of the Yakima Police Department.

Police say they found the driver behind Wray's Thriftway on Third Avenue. The other two were hiding in sheds. Police didn't find a gun.

They say all three will likely face burglary and robbery charges, and the driver will also be charged with eluding.
