KENNEWICK, Wash. -- We've seen a one-two punch from mother nature.
First snow, and now, sleet and freezing rain. The ice pellets have fallen continually throughout the day blanketing area roads.
Driving conditions proved to be difficult for those brave enough to drive on the compact snow and ice.
Some drivers say the ice has been a problem for them all day. "Once this morning I was out, 8:30 this morning. And this is number 2, it's picking up quick," says Ed Newton of Kennewick.
Steven Horne of Kennewick says driving is why he's trying to stay off the roads as much as possible,"they're pretty slippery out there. You really got to be careful. I got a four wheel drive pickup. So I love it, and it's a god send."
The precipitation is expected to continue throughout Thursday night and Friday. The National Weather Service predicts about two tenths of an inch of ice will accumulate.
