YAKIMA, Wash.-- A man was hit by a train Wednesday night in Yakima. It happened just after five o'clock at the tracks near W. Bartlett Place.
It was just a Burlington Northern Santa Fe engine with no rail cars behind it.
A spokesperson for BNSF says crew members saw the man come onto the tracks from a ditch. The conductor tried to stop but the man was hit and thrown about 35 feet. His injuries are said to be non life-threatening.
