Snow continued to cover Yakima on Thursday

YAKIMA, Wash.-- While other regions got freezing rain, Yakima continued to see snow Thursday.

All day people had been trying to get around town but the snow has made it pretty difficult.

As of 4:30, Thursday evening, Yakima had about 4 new inches of snow. Add that to Wednesday's 6 inch total and that's a whole lot of powder!

The city has even hired on 5 contractors to help with plowing.

People around town either love the all the snow, or hate it.

"Oh man, it's great you know. We haven't had this much snow in a while, you know. So in a way it's fun for my kids," said Adiel Rosales.

"It's a pain. Like, I didn't think there was going to be any snow this year.... But here it is," said Kayla Sutton.

And although the roads were pretty messed up Thursday, Yakima Police say they only saw 5 accidents.

Plow crews are also starting to make it to neighborhood streets because there's so much snow.

The city says crews are making their way
through town but they need to wait for traffic to die down before plowing certain areas.
