KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The winter weather has been rough lately and as a result a lot of accidents have happened.
We talked with troopers and police today who say these last few days of snow have brought hundreds of accidents throughout the Tri-Cities. They say the most common reason for accidents is speed, people not paying attention.
Lt. Roger Wilbur with the State Patrol said "We're hopeful people will take the advice and slow down and increase their following distance and try to prevent as many of those from happening as possible."
State Patrol responded to more than 226 accidents on state routes and freeways since Wednesday morning. Kennewick Police assisted with more than 74 fender benders. Richland had around 55 accidents and Pasco helped with more than 40 since the snow storm hit.
