RICHLAND, Wash.-- -

A hill used for sledding was shut down after two students were injured on Friday. The Richland School District closed the hill at Carmichael Middle School. It's a popular place for people to go sledding with their families.

One of the students injured was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center for injuries. The other student was air-lifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for serious injuries.

Neighbor Natalya Martynyuk says "it was really packed this year. More than last year. So you could kind of predict something would happen because there's more people this year."

Right now Richland Police are patrolling the area to keep people off the hill so no one else gets injured. The school district is deciding whether or not to permanently close the hill.
