RICHLAND, Wash.-- -

Richland Schools are hosting an open house for all community members. For the first time the Richland School District is hosting an open house information night, but this time the parents will be going to class. It's going to be next Wednesday at Richland High School in the cafeteria.

Parents will be able to attend classes and learn about everything from math to gang violence in schools and online bullying. Richland Schools Communications Director Steve Aagaard says "community members can go to 4 breakout sessions. Each would be 30 minutes. They can learn about 20 different district programs like bullying and harassment prevention and how to prepare kids for college."

School district representatives say they're trying to better connect parents and the community with the schools. School staff will also talk about the upcoming school levy that will be voted on in February.
