KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans find themselves in a little bit of a funk. After that 13 game winning streak, the Ams have lost five of seven. Head coach Jim Hiller has a new contract however.
Tri-City lost 4-3 to the Kamloops Blazers in a shootout on Saturday night. Strangely enough, the skid coincides with Coach Hiller's new deal. The two of course are unrelated. Terms of the new contract were undisclosed. Coach Hiller says he is very happy to have a new deal.
"We've been talking about that for quite some time actually, and I think we probably both understood that I wanted to stay and they were happy with the job I did so it was pretty amicable. There wasn't a lot of discussion either way about it. We just knew it was going to happen in the end. We really kind of agreed that we were going to talk through the season and where it was going to end up we knew that I'd be staying and I'd be happy to be able to do so," Hiller said.
