Attendance up at local ski areas this month

WHITE PASS, Wash.-- The number of visitors was up at White Pass this month.

The ski area's spokesperson says the large amount of snow they got in January has increased attendance by ten percent over December.

Last month White Pass was hurting from lack of snow, but now they say business is booming.

"You know, weekend after weekend we've got full parking lots and uh, you know, that's good for us and it's good for the entire Highway 12 corridor," says White Pass Spokesperson Kathleen Goyette.

People at Ski Bluewood say they've also seen a large increase in the number of visitors. The area's spokesman says he's very optimistic about the rest of the season.
