PASCO, Wash. - The Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce held it's First Annual Tri-Cities Women in Business Conference Tuesday at the TRAC in Pasco.

The one-day conference is designed to include professional and personal development with networking opportunities spread throughout the event. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn from some of the Tri-Cities most successful business-women.

"We have so many women that are in leadership roles in the Tri-Cities. We really wanted to focus  one day where we focused on the relationships and some of the things that might be unique that women face," says Lori Mattson, the CEO and President of the Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Additionally, the Regional Chamber has partnered with ATHENA International to host the 2012 ATHENA Luncheon sponsored by Indian Eyes LLC; where two ATHENA awards were presented to distinguished women in our community.

The Network Tri-Cities Luncheon featured Keynote Speaker Lee Rhodes, Owner/Founder of Glassybaby and "2011 Entrepreneur of the Year" - Entrepreneur Magazine from Seattle.

Rhodes who is a three time cancer survivor started glassybaby,  a candle making company in 1998.  From the beginning, glassybaby donated money from sales to charities helping cancer patients. Lee remembers meeting people in waiting rooms who could not afford basic day to day costs like bus fare and groceries during treatment. Health insurance does not help with those needs but today, glassybaby has donated more than $750,000 from sales to charities dedicated to healing and helping patients with those costs during chemotherapy.

glassybaby sales were up 40% last year and are expected to reach $8 million dollars in 2012.
