YAKIMA, Wash.-- As the snow continues to melt around our area, crews in Yakima are working hard to make sure water doesn't build up.
The city said after the last big snowfall, they were concerned with flooding.
Snow and ice builds up, and covers drains, causing a hazard for drivers when that water is on the roadway.
"There's been a few little spots but generally with this quick melt we didn't have a lot of ice forming up over the storm drains or anything," said Streets and Traffic Manager, Joe Rosenlund.
Rosenlund says ice is still a concern on city streets, so crews are laying down liquid deicer when they can. Anyone who sees water building up is encouraged to contact Yakima Public Works.
