YAKIMA, Wash.-- The housing market is still in pretty rough shape around the country, but in Yakima there's a place that's been helping buyers get into the home of their dreams.
The Buyer's Agent exclusively helps home buyers, and they say business for them, has been great lately.
Daniel McLaughlin is the managing broker at The Buyer's Agent and he says they've been seeing 12 to 15 new listings everyday in Yakima County.
Since the first of the year, they've also seen a huge increase in the amount of buyers walking through their doors. Almost triple the amount.
McLaughlin says it's a great time to buy, especially if you're a first time buyer. With things like special tax credits, and low interest rates, he says in some cases buying can be cheaper than renting.
"First time home buyer, believe it or not, can get into a $150,000 home with less cash out of pocket and with a lower payment than if they were to go rent a $150,000 home," said McLaughlin.
The Buyer's Agent offers seminars to folks interested in buying a home. Those happen every third Saturday of the month. McLaughlin says last week, they saw 11 couples come out to the seminar, more than they normally see.
