KENNEWICK, Wash -

More information on Kennewick homicide. Kennewick Police say they're continuing to piece together what happened just before an elderly woman was found dead in her home Friday afternoon.

Police and detectives secured the scene overnight and as of right now have not released much information about the death of 87 year old Viola Williams.

The Benton County Coroner says stab wounds were on Williams' body, but the actual cause of death is still under investigation. An autopsy on Monday will be able to tell us exactly how she died. Police say Friday afternoon they responded to the home of Viola Williams at the 3329 West 19th Avenue at the Sun Meadows Mobile Home Park.

We wanted to know whether or not homicides are on the rise. Officers say there were 4 homicides counted in 2005 and since then police say that number has decreased. Kennewick Police Officer Craig Hanson says "back in 2003-2004 there seemed to be a lot going on at that time. Then you'll have your lulls then you'll have their highs. Right now my impression is its actually been pretty low. We can be appreciative of that."

28-year-old Adam Williams has been arrested and is being held while police investigate the homicide. Officers say right now no other suspects are being questioned in this recent case.
