Pinewood Derby Racers got to use a new track for competitions

Pinewood Derby Racers got to use a new track for competitions. A new derby track brought in dozens of families this weekend. The Pinewood Derby Races took place at the Christ the King School in Richland on Saturday.

Several Cub Scout groups were there to race more than 50 different cars. They were all made from blocks of wood that different scouts made into small race cars.

Scout Den Leader Erik Stam says "we really promote trying to get the kids to do it themselves. So they're using some basic woodworking skills; filing, sandpaper, painting and of course the need for speed!"

Prizes were given out for design and speed.
