Armed robbery fails at Round Table Pizza

Posted: Updated:

Managers at Round Table Pizza say following procedure foiled the plans of would-be robbers.

Police say two armed men snuck into the restaurant on the 33 hundred block of West Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick Sunday night.

Then they forced employees into the walk in freezer.

The crew did what they were told, but had already emptied the cash registers and locked up extra money in the safe.

"They didn't want to be here very long and once they figured out the tills were locked, the safe is locked, they can't get into the office, lets get out of here sooner rather than later. So they just beat feet as soon as they figured out they couldn't get to anything." says Area Manager Rik Jones.

No one was hurt and no money was taken.  Customers didn't even notice the entire scene.

If you have any information about the attempted robbery please call the Kennewick Police Department or 586-tips.
