Washington Beef to Pay Back Wages to Fired Employee

Toppenish, Wash. - Washington Beef has agreed to pay $50,000 in back wages to a former employee who was fired for taking medical leave from his job at the packing plant in Toppenish.

Investigators found that the worker was unlawfully terminated, which violated the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act.

Washington Beef is a subsidiary of Agri-Beef, which is based in Boise, Idaho.
