Salsa dancing bringing out lots of people

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- A weekly event in Yakima is bringing out a big crowd.

Salsa Friday started in March of last year and since then it's grown to have a pretty big following.

Organizers say they see about 60 people come through every week, about a third of those come from Ellensburg and the Tri Cities just for some salsa dancing.

People say it's worth it and there's nothing like it in the area.

"So, this is like a place where you can actually go and do some real... like Latin dancing, because in Ellensburg there really isn't a place," said Ryan Riehle who makes the drive from Ellensburg every week.

Salsa Friday take place every Friday at The Seasons in Yakima.

There's a free lesson for beginners at 9:30pm, and the dancing goes from 10-1 in the morning.

It's $5 to get in.
