YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Yakima City Council will hold a hearing on the Transportation Benefit District at tomorrow's city council meeting.
It's a five-year plan to repair many of the main roads around Yakima. The city may pay for it with a $20 car tab fee. Councilman Rick Ensey says he supports repairing the roads, but thinks there are better ways to fund it.
"I think there are better ways of going about it than a 20 dollar car tab fee... I think the responsible thing to do is to decide how much money we need for street repairs and carve it out of the general budget," says Ensey.
Ensey says the council is split on the fees, but he thinks it would pass if it came to a vote. The city council meeting starts tomorrow night at six at city hall.
