Sack it to Goodwill Donation Drive

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA. - Kennewick High School started their "Sack it to Goodwill" donation drive on Monday.

Instead of asking for single items to be donated, they're hoping people will fill a whole sack.

The high school's "Marketing and Management" class organized the drive, and the DECA club is running it.

But Goodwill isn't the only group befitting from this drive. At the end of the week, Goodwill will pay the DECA club for their donations, based on weight.

Britany Duvon, a Kennewick High School Student, and DECA president, said "I know that my school wants to help, especially DECA, so they want to give back to others, and it's not just me it's the whole community."

Kami Smith, a teacher at Kennewick High and one of the drive's coordinators, said "having an event working with the community is really important so they can understand that side of things as well."

Kennewick High School is accepting donations in their main office during regular hours Monday, February 13th through Friday, February 17th.

They're asking for clothes and shoes, books and games, as well as CD's and DVD's.

Kennewick High School is located at 500 South Dayton Street in Kennewick.
