PASCO, WA- A Franklin County judge and attorneys continue interviewing prospective jurors for a murder trial.
Attorneys are sorting through questionnaires filled out by more than 140 potential jurors. Among the questions asked is whether they've ever experienced domestic violence in their family, or if they have a bias against immigrants.
Gregorio Luna Luna is accused of stabbing to death the mother of his young son. Months before her death, prosecutors say Griselda Ocampo Meza had called 911 on several occasions, saying Luna Luna had assaulted her. The Immigration and Naturalization Service had deported Luna Luna, but Pasco police arrested him shortly after her murder.
Prosecutors could start calling witnesses as early as tomorrow. The trial is expected to last two weeks.
