FINLEY, WA. -- Students at River View High School in Finley have been taking more opportunities for fitness.
River View High School's "Family Career and Community Leaders of America" club has been offering lunch time fitness challenges to any student looking for a convenient way to exercise.
Students can go online every day to record 60 minutes of exercise and their food intake, and during lunch on Tuesday they participated in a "Heart Smart Dance Challenge," dancing with the Wii fit dance game.
Syrrita Mason, a student and organizer for the fitness activities, said, "if you could learn at a young age to be fit and healthy, then I think that could do great because then when you're older you can be like, oh I know how to do this, I know how to take care of my body."
Fueluptoplay60.com and the Dairy Farmers of Washington fund the program through a grant they gave at the beginning of the school year. So after fulfilling the fitness challenge, students are rewarded with non-fat, sugar free frozen yogurt.
It's all part to combat the national problem of obesity and sedentary lifestyles.
