If your New Year's Resolution was to lose some weight; you've probably been spending a lot of time on the treadmill.

But personal trainers at Hansen Park Fitness say the best results come from more than just cardio.

They suggest incorporating strength training into your weight loss program.

Trainers say building lean muscle can help your body burn more calories.

"The denser the muscle the stronger the muscle the more energy you require and that energy is calories. Calories equal energy. When your body needs more energy to just to maintain itself your going to burn more calories and lose more fat," says Personal Trainer Shayne Smith.
