Police in Zillah looking for suspects in morning shooting
ZILLAH, Wash.-- Police in Zillah are looking for the person or people involved in an early morning shooting.
Police say around 2:30 Friday morning 23 year old Angel Arredondo was dropped off at the Toppenish Hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg, back and head.
Police say he was possibly involved in a fight that led to a shooting at the Sunmart Mini Mart on Vintage Valley Parkway. Police say they don't see shootings very often in Zillah.
"The frequency of shootings in Zillah is very low. It's a rare occurrence here in town. We are Lower Valley so we have it around us," says Zillah Police Chief Dave Simmons.
Police say Arredondo is in stable condition and his injuries aren't life threatening. They say certain members of the victim's family have gang ties, but they aren't sure yet if the shooting is gang related.
