Investigators need your help to track down a killer

Posted: Updated:

MATTAWA, Wash.-- Investigators still don't have any suspects in the murder of a 28-year-old Mattawa woman who was seven months pregnant.

Detectives are still going through all possible leads in the fatal shooting of Esperanza Vicenté-Mestizo and her unborn son.

It happened last week outside an apartment complex on Third Place in Mattawa.

Deputies say Vicenté-Mestizo was simply unloading groceries from her car when she was gunned down.

She was 7 and a half months pregnant.

Investigators do not believe the shooting was gang related and are not sure why someone would target her, so they're asking for the publics help in solving this case.

"This is a 28-year-old woman who is a mother of 3, she was 7 1/2 months pregnant. That's why we're asking the public to come forward with whatever information they have, however small the details are," said Chief Deputy Ryan Rectenwald with the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

He says investigators have been working around the clock on this case.

If you have any information, contact the Grant County Sheriff's Office at 509-762-1160.

They remind people that callers can remain anonymous.
