Car dealerships see big sales over the holiday weekend
KENNEWICK, Wash. -
Car dealerships see big sales over the holiday weekend. In the beginning of the year car dealerships said they expected big sales in 2012. This weekend we're told car sales have already been at a record high for local dealerships.
General Motors also saw a 21% sales increase and Chrysler saw a 40% boost. Local dealerships say Presidents Day weekend should peak their income.
McCurley Integrity Dealership General Manager Craig Cavanaugh says many people have come down to Columbia Park for President's Day weekend sales. "The sun doesn't go down until 5:30-6:00 p.m. and people are out like a day like today and they're really enjoying it. They go into the tent, get some coffee or hot chocolate," said Cavanaugh.
More than 900 cars were in the park and they expect to sell a quarter of those. We're told the most popular cars being sold in our area are Crossover vehicles.
