Movie filmed in Yakima to premier in 40 theaters this summer
YAKIMA, Wash.-- A movie filmed entirely in Yakima will premier in 40 theaters nationwide this summer.
It's called "Contrition". It's about a man who makes bad choices in his life and is nudged in the right direction by supernatural forces. It was created by JH Productions, a company that's been making TV shows and movies in Yakima for 15 years. Producer Josh Hodgins says Yakima is a great place to film.
"Geographically it's gorgeous... You know, within a 50-mile radius of the town you can have anything you want... You know, get a lot of sunshine. We also get all 4 seasons, so that's really nice. It's just a nice place to go," says Hodgins.
Hodgins says their projects usually put about 25 to 50 people to work. About 20 people worked on this movie. He hopes to premier it nationwide in June, and have it playing in both Yakima and Tri-Cities theaters.
