YAKIMA, Wash. -- A new website for pet owners launched Monday, aiming to help boost tourism in the Yakima Valley.
The Yakima Valley Visitor's and Convention Bureau introduced WineDoggies.Com to help folks traveling with their pets.
YVVCB CEO John Cooper says the site is designed to encourage pet owners to plan more trips to the Yakima Valley.
A recent survey with more than 6,000 pet owners reports most travel with their pets at least once a year.
"It's all about finding attractions, the lodging accommodations, and the various places that people can take their dogs and their policies related to the dogs," Cooper explained.
There are more than a dozen Yakima Valley wineries listed on the new site that are pet friendly.
