Brendan Shinnimin enjoying individual and team success
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Tri-City Americans forward Brendan Shinnimin has 21 points in the last five games. The forward had three hat-tricks last week.
Shinnimin's hot streak puts him well at the top of the Western Hockey League with 117 points. His play helped pace Tri-City to seven straight wins. The 21-year-old is also climbing the team record book. His 125 career goals now ranks 6th in team history. Shinnimin says it has been an unbelievable few weeks for him and the team.
"Obviously it's been fun you know to be able to put up numbers like that. It's pretty fun, but at the same time our team is winning. So you know it's a happy atmosphere in the dressing room for everyone," Said Shinnimin, who has 52 goals this season.
"No, I don't think there's too many people that can say they've witnessed this. I mean you have to go back a long time to see the numbers being equaled at any level of hockey. It's just been a great run, and we needed it as a team," said Jim Hiller, Americans head coach.
