"Sloppy Slaw Burger and Rib" says their first week went well
YAKIMA, Wash.-- There's a new place to eat in Yakima. The "Sloppy Slaw Burger and Rib" opened a few days ago at 33rd Avenue and Nob Hill.
The menu is made up of homemade recipes for things like burgers, but with a twist, one of them has a doughnut instead of a bun.
The restaurant is part of an upswing in new businesses the Yakima Chamber of Commerce has seen. They say survival rates over 5 years are about 50 percent, but the Sloppy Slaw's owners say they're optimistic about the future.
"All I know is if you work real hard, you put out a really good quality product... Hopefully you can put out something that people will enjoy," says Co-owner Sandy Quenzer.
They say business has been good since they started, and they're beginning to see some repeat customers. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 in the morning until eight at night.
