TCAHA 18U Team to Compete at National Championship

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- On Wednesday, March 28, 2012, the Tri-Cities Amateur Hockey Association (TCAHA) 18U Team will travel to Lansing, Michigan to compete in the USA Hockey Tier II 18U National Championship.
The Tri-Cities Jr. Americans 18U team advanced to the National Championship by winning the Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association's State Championship, which drew to a close on Sunday, March 4, 2012 here in Tri-Cities. The championship game was held at Kennewick's Toyota Arena, with the Jr. Americans earning a 3-2 win over the Spokane Jr. Chiefs 18U team. This was the final game in a tournament that hosted 45 games between 19 teams from across Washington in three age groups over a three day span. Earlier in the day, the Jr. Americans persevered in a 5-4, double overtime semi-final game against the Seattle Junior Northwest Admirals in order to make it to the championship.
The Jr. American's first game at the National Championship is scheduled against the New Hampshire representative on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 10:00 local time.
