Man arrested in reported threat against governor

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - A 50-year-old man who reportedly claimed aliens were telling him to assassinate Washington's governor has been arrested for making a threat.

The threat was contained in a letter the Everett man reportedly wrote to the state office of administrative hearings in Seattle. Court papers didn't make clear what the man sought in his letter.

The message was forwarded to the Washington State Patrol unit that provides security for Gov. Chris Gregoire. The newspaper didn't identify the man arrested last Friday night. State Patrol spokesman Bob Calkins says the agency takes seriously all threats made on the governor.
