STEM Showcase hits Yakima Convention Center tomorrow

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Students from across Washington State will present their projects at the STEM Showcase tomorrow.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Exhibits include robotics, forensics programs, and other inventions like solar-powered streetlights. ESD 105 is hosting the event. They hope projects like these encourage kids to look at careers in math and science.

"It gives them an answer to that question: 'what am I going to do with the stuff I'm learning?' Science being the content, math being the language, and the technology and engineering is how they apply it," says ESD Math Coordinator Ann Sipe.

It happens tomorrow night in the Yakima Convention Center. It starts at four and goes until seven. Admission is free, and kids of all ages are welcome.
