Monster trucks return to the Tri-Cities

KENNEWICK, Wash., -- Ladies and gentlemen, start your 1,500 horsepower engines.

Monster trucks return to the Tri-Cities tomorrow night. The 'Captain USA' truck made a pit stop at USA Auto Sales in Kennewick this morning to meet and greet fans.

Five trucks will compete in a series of competitions that include racing, a wheelie contest and a freestyle run.

Each truck weighs nearly 10,000 pounds and is capable of getting nearly 20 feet in the air.

"I've been going for as long as I can remember," says Driver Travis Groth.  "A crazy thought runs through your head, "Man! I wonder what it would be like to drive one of those!?"  So, I looked into it and met a couple of people and it is a blast to drive one of these trucks!"

The trucks run Friday and Saturday at 7:30 at TRAC in Pasco.

Tickets are $10 for kids and $17 for adults at the door.
